SUPPORT

When University of Saint Mary (USM) designed its distance learning programs the university enlisted the support of busy working professionals to find out how to best present course content in a convenient online format. USM then created a network of resources to help you find ways to manage your career, your home life, and the requirements of your degree. You may have already come in contact with some of this support through your enrollment advisor. After you enter the program you will discover the high levels of instruction and support that are necessary to earn your degree.

University of Saint Mary provides seven modes of academic, technical, and administrative support. In addition to your enrollment advisor who guides you through the enrollment process, you receive tremendous support from the course instructor, program manager, fellow peers, e-learning helpdesk support, and student services. Each course is designed so you interact with a small group of your peers with the support and assistance of a course instructor. A university faculty member will deliver course instruction and oversee the course as a whole to ensure your overall success in the program.

Your USM support team includes the following:

  • Your enrollment advisor is assigned to assist you, answer your questions, and guide you through the admissions process.
  • Your course instructor is responsible for the course design and ensuring that your learning needs are being met. He/she is your guide for completing course assignments, achieving course learning objectives, participating in chat and interaction sessions, and satisfying your Independent Study requirements
  • Your program manager is available to aid you with any administrative needs.
  • Your fellow peers will be interacting with you regularly in your small learning group.
  • Your e-learning Helpdesk support is available to you should you have any problems with the course technology.
  • Student services are only a phone call away should you ever need assistance.
